Der in Berlin und in Wuppertal lebende Geraldo Si begann 1981 seine Tanz- und Theaterarbeit nach einer Tanzausbildung in Brasilien. Zusammen mit Rodolpho Leoni u.a. gründete er die Gruppe Pantanaliadanca.
In São Paulo arbeitete er u.a. mit Antonio Abujamra, Gerald Thomas, Penha de Souza, Clarice Abujamra und wirkte in verschiedenen Film- und Fernsehproduktionen mit.

1990 kam Geraldo Si als festes Ensemblemitglied zum Tanztheater Wuppertal unter der Leitung von Pina Bausch und gründete 1996 das  x.x.y. theater Wuppertal, für das er mehrere Produktionen erarbeitete.
Neben seiner eigenen choreografischen Tätigkeit arbeitet er als Tänzer u.a. zusammen mit Raimund Hoghe, dem Healing Theatre Köln, rodolpho leoni dance, Stephanie Thiersch, Vera Sander Art Connect und Cocoondance.

Seit 1996 beschäftigt er sich mit „‘Growing Through Movement“, einem Weg der ihm von Suprapto Suryodarmo aus Indonesien gezeigt wurde.

Er konzipierte die spartenübergreifende Veranstaltungsreihe „SichtLaut - Tänzerische Improvisationen zu neuer Musik“.  Und initiierte das Jugendprojekt "Sommertanz junge Talente“, das seit 2003 in Wuppertal realisiert wird. Von 2005 bis 2007 war Geraldo Si künstlerischer Leiter der Jugend Tanz Compagnie des Teo Otto Theater Remscheid.

Geraldo Si iniciou sua carreira artística nos anos oitenta, em Campo Grande Mato Grosso do Sul. Foi um dos fundadores do Pantanáliadança, o primeiro grupo independente de danca em MS. Logo após residiu em São Paulo participando de várias produções teatrais e de dança sob a direção de Antonio Abujamra, Gerald Thomas, Penha de Souza, Clarice Abujamra e Renata Mello entre outros.
Mudou-se para Alemanha no início dos anos noventa, para fazer parte como solista da companhia Tanztheater Wuppertal sob a direção de Pina Bausch, após um curto tempo em New York onde trabalhou com David Byrd e Zvy Gotheiner. E atualmente, reside em Berlim.
Em 1996 fundou a companhia de teatro e dança x.x.y. theater onde realisou  vários projetos. Paralelo às produções próprias também colaborou com Raimundo Hoghe, e Cocoon Dance entre outros.
Desde então vem trabalhando, também, com improvisação, impulsionado pelo contacto de vários anos que teve com o indonesiano Suprapto Suryodarmo.
A partir de seu trabalho de Improvisação com músicos, bailarinos e artístas plásticos inicia o projeto SichtLaut, no qual o seu trabalho físico com os performers é de máxima importância para o conceito deste Projeto .
Também iniciou a academia de dança de verão – Sommertanz,  projeto piloto na Alemanha para jovens de 15 a 19 anos, na sua oitava edição. Geraldo vem oferecendo Workshops para Improvisação no Brasil e em vários países da Europa e na Asia.

Geraldo Si began his dance career in 1981 with Pantanaliadança, Brazil, after having been taking dance classes for three years. In São Paulo, he worked as dancer and actor with Antonio Abujamra, Geraldo Thomas, Penha de Souza, the Teatro Brasileiro de Dança, Marzipan Dance Cia amongst others. He also participated in a number of T.V. series.

In 1990 Si came to Germany to join the Wuppertaler Tanztheater led by Pina Bausch, where he danced as a soloist for four years. Subsequently he collaborated with Raimund Hoghe (“Geraldos solo” in 1996 and “Tanzgeschichten” in 2003), Stephanie Thiersch, Healing Theatre Köln, rodolpho leoni dance, Vera Sander Art Connect and Cocoondance.

In 1996 Si founded x.x.y. theater in Wuppertal and directed several of its productions.
He was from 2003 till 2010 artistic director of Sommertanz Junge Talente, a dance theatre project for the youth, that was a pilotscheme from the Kunststiftung NRW from 2003 till 2005.

Inspired by the collaboration with Suprapto Suryodarmo, for the past twelve years Geraldo Si has focused most of his work on improvisation and the concept of “growing through movement”. In 2002 he initiated an on going series of events „SichtLaut“. On these performance evening dancers, actors and musicians experiment within the borders of improvisation.

Si also regularly gives workshops for improvisation in Europe, Asia and South America.
